FALL DECOR THAT DOESN’T LOOK LIKE THE CRAFT STORE THREW UP IN YOUR LIVING ROOM…

It’s that time of year again and I’m not sure about anyone else, but as soon as the calendar read October 1, I was READY…

…and was promptly told to calm tf down -_-

FINE.

If it’s “too early” to get into the Christmas spirit, may as well go all out for fall! If you’re like me, the decor is one of the most fun and important parts of the holiday season (besides all the “be good to your fellow man” and whatnot of course) so I’ve put together this little list of inspiration to help you get chic, modern fall decor without looking like you robbed Hobby Lobby!

GET PLAYFUL WITH PUMPKINS.

Typical Jack-o-Lanterns are cute or whatever, but adding unique touches like brushstrokes, glitter, or marbling add a one-of-a-kind feel to your fall decor! Utilize the fall colors you’ve used elsewhere in your home to tie the look together.

WREATHS!

I love a wreath.

My grandmother, who we affectionately refer to as “Christmas Anne” for her love of the holidays, always had the most beautiful wreaths that she changed with each holiday and season. I loved seeing which ones she would select; the magnolias for spring, the apples and pinecones for Christmas, she had quite the collection!

Modernize the traditional wreath with unique shapes, asymmetry, and non-traditional pairings of florals in fun colors.

MIX IT UP

Sure, the typical rusts and golden hues that we’re used to seeing for the fall are beautiful, but try shaking up your fall colors this year with some non-traditional options. For a fun and relaxed look, bright pops of color like pinks and yellow work best. Go moody and dramatic with jewel-tones like emerald and amethyst. Go crazy!

TURN UP THANKSGIVING

Tired of eating the same old food, having the same old conversations on the same old place settings? We know Thanksgiving is all about the food, but this year consider shaking up your tablescape and menu for more updated and interesting selections.

Category is: Modern Turkey Day Realness!

Don’t care for the pumpkin-cornucopia-harvest-time-extravaganza? Go for candles in fun colors as centerpieces, or for a more subdued look simple greenery in the form of garlands and wreaths.

So…

Hopefully this left you feeling inspired to make your home the funkiest, most out-of-the-box this fall and your guests are left singing your praises for years to come. Tried any of these ideas out? Send us a snap! We’d love to feature your space.
